In a somewhat late journal entry (do to my time at school) that by now should not come as a suprise to most deviants (w/in The US) that The Supreme Court of The United States (SCOTUS) will be taking on The Defence of Marriage Act (DOMA) a fedreal law that defines marriage as to 1 man and 1 woman and denies federal benifits to same-sex couples along with California's Proposition H8... 8 that also restricts marraiges to 1 man and 1 woman in nest years upcomming session of the high court. My thoughts on the mattre is fairly short and simple... the lickly outcome is that SCOTUS will strike down these descriminatory laws and gays and lesbians (and all those inbetween) will be celebrating wildly in the streetes with mass orgies on the streets and week long pride celebrations blocking traffic within the cities whilst the more shall we say the less gay friendly segemnts of the population will be protesing and having mass group prayers and maybe talking about God's 'punishment' of America for allowing equality under the law for endless nights.
Well, all facetiousness aside except maybe for the mass orgies One belive that the likely outcome of both laws will definalty be a 5-to-4 decision (hopefully) to strike down these laws. Now One is certainly more hopefull about the implications from DOMA being struckdown in its entirety and for now less optimistic for Prop H8...8. Certainly I'm comfortable that Prop H8...8 I don't know why that H keeps popping up when I punch in the number 8 on the keyboard. Now I'm certain Prop H8... ... ...(never mind) will be struck down but its implications can go in one of two ways if struck down: the first senario is that the law is strcuk down not just in its entirety but that Calinorina and all 50 states (soon to be 51, come on PR statehood!) will have to legalize same-sex marriages if they have not allready. In essence this senario would undo all laws banning same-sex marraige in all states that have banned same-sex marraige. Or in the second hypothetical that SCOTUS in a 5-to-4 decision strikes down the law but only limits it to California. Personally as of now this is how I think the court might rule should it rule in favor of same-sex marriage. The only down side to this decision that one could forsee is that if the law is struck down in Calinfornia but not other states that sooner or later other states with similar bans will see their laws challenged one by one and maybe taken to the high court and maybe deluge the court's docket (doubtful, which gives a small sence of hope for the first option). And of course lets not forget the other impications of Prop H8 being struck down would also add to the 'moral disintergration' of American society, the 'destruction' of families and communities, and bring forth the wrath of God as Sodomy and Gonorrhea... I mean Sodom and Gomorrah had done for 'perverse acts' of homosexuality and the like. As if guns, drugs, rape, and a divorce rate of 50% (in the US) doesn't accomplish much to the degrigation of American society as legalizing same-sex marraige would do.
(On a special note: I have aslo heard that in the UK there is a Proposal to allow same-sex marraiges in England and Wales, if anyone across the pond would care to elaborate on the news I would appreciate it.)
Also in the news and not to any suprize from my end of the comment made by Supreme Court Jester.... I mean Justice Antonin Scabies... Scalia (I'm really sorry, I seem to be having technical difficulties with my keyboard this evening) comparing homosexuality to murder and beastiality. Now in order to spare my self anf the reader from an allready long journal I have to say this to Supreme Court Jester Scabies, Eat Shit.
